Joe Biden

Allegations of corruption involving former President Joe Biden have been a focal point of political discourse, particularly concerning his family's business dealings. Investigations have scrutinized Hunter Biden's foreign business activities and potential conflicts of interest during Biden's tenure as Vice President.

House Oversight Committee Investigation

In January 2023, the House Oversight Committee initiated an investigation into the foreign business dealings of Hunter Biden and his associates. The committee examined whether these activities influenced U.S. foreign policy decisions during Biden's vice presidency. As of December 2023, the committee had not uncovered evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden.

Impeachment Inquiry

On September 12, 2023, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden, citing allegations of corruption related to his family's business dealings. The inquiry aimed to determine whether Biden had engaged in misconduct warranting impeachment. However, subsequent investigations did not produce conclusive evidence of criminal activity by the President.

Classified Documents Investigation

In November 2022, classified documents from Biden's vice presidency were discovered at the Penn Biden Center and his Wilmington residence. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate the matter. In February 2024, the special counsel concluded that no charges would be filed against Biden, stating that the retention of classified documents was not willful.

FBI Informant's False Allegations

In December 2024, Alexander Smirnov, a former FBI informant, pleaded guilty to charges of making false statements about a bribery scheme involving the Bidens. Smirnov had previously claimed that President Biden and his son were involved in a bribery scheme, but investigations revealed these allegations to be unfounded.

Conclusion

While various allegations and investigations have been conducted regarding potential corruption involving President Biden and his family, no conclusive evidence has emerged to substantiate claims of criminal wrongdoing. The investigations have not resulted in charges against the former President.
